Get the actions, shots and drills you need to prepare your point guards to run the Dribble Drive Motion Offense in this insightful DVD from John Calipari! Watch as Calipari runs his 45 minute point guard workout in a live practice setting. All of the essentials are here: Drills for ball quickness, shooting, footwork and decision making skills.

Calipari cranks up the workout with intense, purpose driven warm-up drills. Each drill uses a ball and develops ball quickness and handles. These drills will have your guards moving the ball around on the dribble, protecting the ball from deflections and steals and blowing by defenders.

Moving to the heart of the work-out, Calipari breaks the remainder of the practice into three parts:

Lay-ups. Calipari presents a progression of lay-up drills that feature speed, ball handling and footwork. Each drill works on getting guards past their defenders and finishing with contact.
Shooting. These one-ball shooting drills will force your guards to make quick decisions based on what the defense gives them. Calipari incorporates lay-ups, hesitation pull up jumpers, 3-pointers from the corner, back doors, top of the key shots, and kick backs. Get your guards ready to score when the opportunity arises.
Pick-and-Roll. In this segment, Calipari focuses on a hesitation move to read the big and gain the separation needed to drive around or split defenders.

To finish the practice, Calipari has his guards play a continuous full court 1-on-1 drill that progresses into a 2-on-2 that forces players to score on the fastbreak, guard the dribble and play through the physical nature of the opponent.

This skill workout will teach your players to handle the ball with both hands, shoot the ball with both hands and develop their ball quickness. And it will provide you with coaching cues and techniques for training and developing your players. Implement this workout into your program today.
